Reality TV controversy, one-man party on Quad
Homecoming came and went, with a number of alumni returning to their old stomping grounds – most prominently at the bars and in the Carrier Dome for the Syracuse-Florida State game.
One alumna, Jennifer Crisafulli, SU class of ’92, stayed home. Crisafulli, known as Jennifer C. for her role on the cast of ‘The Apprentice 2,’ had just been sent home from the reality-based show two weeks earlier after making alleged anti-Semitic remarks about two women who criticized the way she managed the task at hand. After the two women complained about her efforts, Crisafulli referred to them as ‘old Jewish bat ladies.’ Crisafulli said she meant no harm with the remark – after all, she said, half her family is Jewish. Still, Crisafulli’s comments on the show also got her axed from her previous employer, New York real estate firm Douglas Elliman.Heard the rumor about the kid getting caught masturbating on the SU Quad earlier this week? The story led listeners to believe that a male student was masturbating in an alleyway off of the Quad and was caught by two Public Safety officers.
Public Safety, meanwhile, is denying the occurrence of any such incident. This past Thursday, 22 Alpha Phi sisters gathered in the house’s TV room along with three male students to watch their fellow sorority member, Eliza Orlins, compete on ‘Survivor.’ Those numbers are dwindling from what they were earlier in the semester. Sarah King, Alpha Phi’s chapter president, said there were more than a hundred viewers at the house for the season premiere.
… A local campus fraternity had a hot tub at their house over the weekend. At one point, there was also at least three topless girls in it together. … At least 3,250 Syracuse students are now registered at TheFacebook.com. The most impressive part? This number means 1,178 students have signed up to join the network in the past two weeks alone.
