Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud sent out a campus-wide email Wednesday morning detailing changes within the athletics department and an update with the status of the NCAA’s sanctions.

Jim Boeheim:
- Men’s basketball head coach Jim Boeheim is expected to retire in three years, according to the email.
- Boeheim addressed the media on Thursday morning regarding his planned retirement and the NCAA investigation.
Director of Athletics:
- Director of Athletics Daryl Gross is stepping down as director of athletics and is being reassigned to vice president, special assistant to the chancellor and will serve as an adjunct sport management professor in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
