Gallery: 29 years later, Syracuse University honors Pan Am Flight 103 victims at Rose Laying Ceremony

On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland. In the resulting crash, 35 Syracuse University students were killed. Each year, a number of students honor the victims as part of the Remembrance Scholars program. Scholars placed roses at the Place of Remembrance on Friday.

Each year, two Lockerbie students are selected to participate in the Remembrance Scholars program. Andrew Dorrance and Heather Mutch were selected this year. Dorrance's father was a first responder to the Pan Am Flight 103 crash.

Remembrance Scholars on Friday honored 35 Syracuse University students who were killed in 1988 after a bomb destroyed Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The 35 students were returning home from studying in Europe.
