On Saturday afternoon in the Carrier Dome, Syracuse (19-12, 8-10 Atlantic Coast) beat its first ranked opponent of the season in No. 18 Clemson (22-8,11-7). Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett led the Orange with 17 points each. Despite no SU field goals during the final 8:45, Syracuse’s defense and 11-0 run earlier in the half gave SU enough relief to pull out the upset. Syracuse next plays on Tuesday at the Barclays Center in the ACC Tournament, in which SU is 0-3 since joining the conference.
