Syracuse (7-7-4, 1-4-3 Atlantic Coast) lost, 3-1, to Akron (11-6-2, 1-2-1 Mid American) in the second round of the NCAA men’s soccer tournament Sunday. The Orange, who had been ranked high in Rating Percentage Index all season long, received a first-round bye, but couldn’t take advantage. SU remained tied with the Zips until the midway point of the second half, but faltered to end the game in what turned out to be a lopsided loss on the scoreboard.
