Syracuse (16-7, 7-3 Atlantic Coast) failed to upset No. 22 Florida State (17-5, 5-4) on Tuesday night in the Carrier Dome. The Orange lost, 80-62, after nearly overcoming a 20-plus point deficit. Tyus Battle led SU with 23 points but committed four turnovers. Only three other Orange registered points.
Syracuse entered the Carrier Dome coming off a three-game road trip in which the Orange went 2-1.
