Benne Anderson placed ninth in the NCAA Championships held in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday.
Anderson was Syracuse’s lone championship competitor after qualifying in the semifinal on Friday.
The redshirt freshman distance runner clocked in at 3:57.63, four seconds off the leader. This finish earned him All-American honors after being one of two underclassmen to qualify for the final.
The meet marked the end of the indoor season for the Orange, who will begin outdoor competitions Friday at the USF Alumni Invitational.
