Women in Design Wikithon
Hosted by Women in Design, Syracuse University Libraries and Professor Lori Brown, this event will celebrate Women’s History Month. After a tutorial on how to edit Wikipedia pages, students will work together to expand Wikipedia’s coverage of women. Snacks will be available. Both Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students are invited to attend.

AAPI Heritage Month Kickoff
April is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This kickoff event will feature information about SU’s events to commemorate the month, along with student performances. The AAPI Heritage Month Planning Committee will also discuss the annual Anti-Asian Hate Crime Exhibit, which will be displayed on the first floor of Schine Student Center. Let’s Be Engaged: Slime and Stuffies
Take some time to relax in the middle of your week by making a stuffed plushie. A variety of animal designs will be available to choose from. There will also be fidget toys and DIY slime stations. RSVP here.

Traveling Jane Crow: African American Women and Railroad History
SU’s Department of African American Studies is hosting its 42nd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Public Affairs Lecture. Miriam Thaggert, professor and associate chair of English at SUNY Buffalo, will discuss the work of African American women on the American railroads.

Trans Support Day
This event will feature support and resources for the transgender community in central New York. Providers from the community who offer gender-affirming medical care, support groups and legal support will be available. There will also be a store with free clothing, makeup, accessories and free consultations with makeup and hair professionals.
