Syracuse University named 12 graduating seniors as 2025 University Scholars in a Monday news release. The award is SU’s highest honor for undergraduate students.

The Scholars Selection Committee selected candidates based on academic performance, research and creative work, and evidence of innovation as an SU student. Every year, university colleges are required to nominate two students from their graduating classes — or up to one student for every 100 graduates from the school, according to the university’s national scholarships website.

“We are proud to recognize our University Scholars for their many accomplishments. Not only have they achieved academic success, they have also embraced opportunities—like research and community service—to enhance and expand their undergraduate experience and make the most of their time here,” Lois Agnew, interim vice chancellor, provost and chief academic officer, said in the release. “As they prepare to graduate, we are looking forward to celebrating their future accomplishments and success.”
