Syracuse goalie Daniella Guyette won Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week alongside Boston College goalie Shea Dolce, the conference announced Tuesday. The honor came after she notched 22 saves in two games last week.

Against then-No. 17 Loyola on Wednesday, Guyette recorded 11 saves on 33 shots, helping Syracuse to a 14-12 win over the Greyhounds. Despite allowing Loyola to climb back from an early 5-1 deficit, she came up big in the fourth quarter to seal SU’s victory with only one goal allowed.

Then, on Sunday versus then-No. 21 Notre Dame, she again tallied 11 saves in the Orange’s 12-11 victory. This time, she faced 34 shots and registered a .500 save percentage. Guyette was especially active in the first quarter, stopping five ND shots, boosting Syracuse to a 4-1 first-quarter advantage.

In her first season as the Orange’s primary goalie this season, Guyette has been phenomenal. The junior slotted into the role with little collegiate experience after Delaney Sweitzer transferred to Northwestern in the offseason. But she’s amassed a .472 save percentage and 108 saves — which ranks third in the country — while holding opponents to 11 goals per game.

Guyette’s honor marks the third Syracuse has collected this season. Senior attacker Emma Ward won Inside Lacrosse’s Co-Player of the Week after registering seven points against then-No. 7 Maryland. Also, defender Coco Vandiver was named the ACC and Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Defensive Player of the Week on March 11 after causing six turnovers versus then-No. 6 Stanford.
