Syracuse softball’s series opener against Virginia has been postponed due to inclement weather. SU was slated to face the Cavaliers at 5 p.m. Friday in Charlottesville to kick off a three-game weekend series. The Orange will announce the updated schedule once game times are confirmed.

It’s the second time in three weeks that inclement weather has postponed one of SU’s Atlantic Coast Conference contests. Last time, it resulted in the Orange being swept by North Carolina in a March 30 doubleheader.

Syracuse’s most recent conference game was just its third ACC win of the season, when it beat Georgia Tech 3-0 on April 5. Pitcher Madison Knight’s second complete-game shutout of the season willed the Orange to victory. SU will look to carry that momentum into a likely doubleheader with UVA this weekend.

The teams will provide further information once a weekend schedule is finalized.
