Syracuse midfielder Emma Muchnick was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team, while five other Syracuse players were named to the All-ACC teams released Tuesday. Muchnick has recorded career highs in goals, ground balls and caused turnovers in her junior season.

While Muchnick was the only first-team selection for the Orange, graduate student attacker Emma Ward earned second-team honors. Ward leads SU in points (68) and assists (41) in her fifth year in the program. Kaci Benoit, Daniella Guyette, Caroline Trinkaus and Coco Vandiver all earned third-team spots.

In her second year with the Orange, Benoit became a focal point of the defense. She’s tallied 30 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers this season. Guyette was recognized for her performance as a first-year starter, where she ranks second in the conference in saves per game at 9.13.

Vandiver ranks second in the ACC in caused turnovers per game with 2.31, earning a nod in her junior year. Rounding out the group is Trinkaus. In her freshman season, she ranks second on the team with 28 goals.

The Orange face off with No. 3 seed Stanford in the ACC Tournament First Round Wednesday evening.
