Syracuse men’s rowing dropped one spot to No. 11 in the Week 6 Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches’ Association/Intercollegiate Rowing Association Men’s Varsity 8+ Poll on Wednesday. It’s tied for SU’s lowest ranking since 2021, when the poll was first established.

Last weekend, Syracuse competed at the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Massachusetts, where its varsity 8 boat placed third during the morning session. The Orange finished four seconds behind race-winner No. 3 Harvard.

SU jumped up one spot in the Ten Eyck Team Points rankings, leapfrogging No. 8 Brown and going from ninth to eighth. The 2V8 boat climbed three spots in the rankings, now sitting at sixth. Finally, the 3V8 boat rounded out SU’s roster by rising from tenth to ninth.

The Orange will compete in their final regatta in Cooper River, New Jersey, where they’ll compete in the IRA National Championship from May 30 to June 1. To secure its first IRA Championship, Syracuse will have to compete with 31 other schools.
