New releases to watch, listen to throughout the summer

Summer means a boatload of new movies, TV show finales and artists teasing new music. Whether you’re planning on being a busy bee this summer or planting yourself in front of the TV until further notice, The Daily Orange has compiled a list of upcoming media releases to enjoy this summer.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
In the new Mission: Impossible movie, Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt for what might be the last time. Others like Ving Rhames, is also returning to the franchise, along with actors Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales and Angela Bassett. Hunt aims to take down the Entity for good with new allies and tactics. The film is in theaters on Friday.
In the movie, John Krasinski and Natalie Portman play siblings who set out to find the Fountain of Youth. The cast of this adventure film also features Eiza González and Domhnall Gleeson. “Fountain of Youth” is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday.
Wes Anderson’s new movie, “The Phoenician Scheme,” follows a rich businessman, Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro) as he introduces his only daughter as the heir to his estate. They’re later chased by terrorists, scheming tycoons and assassins. The film comes out Friday, May 30 and also features Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Michael Cera and Benedict Cumberbatch.
FX is serving up a fourth season of “The Bear” this summer. Last summer, chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto’s (Jeremy Allen White) goal was to transform his family’s Italian beef shop into a Michelin-star restaurant. Now, the show is back to address last season’s ending as Carmy continues to vie for the coveted star. All 10 episodes of Season 4 premiere at once on Hulu on Wednesday, June 25.

With the release of her new single “What Was That” and a surprise dance party and performance in Washington Square Park in New York City, Lorde is back. Her fourth studio album is titled “Virgin” and is an introspection on her femininity and independence. “Virgin” is out on Friday, June 27.
This new Formula One movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski, features Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a popular race car driver during the 1990s. Thirty years after an accident on the track, Hayes returns to racing and mentors a younger, newer driver. “F1” is in theaters on Friday, June 27.
Kesha releases her sixth studio album and first-ever through her own independent label, Kesha Records, on Friday, July 4. The album is titled “.” (yes, just a period), and already has four released singles — “JOYRIDE.,” “DELUSIONAL.,” “YIPPEE-KI-YAY.” and “BOY CRAZY.” This is her first album since leaving RCA Records and Kemosabe Records in December 2023.
The Summer I Turned Pretty
Team Conrad or team Jeremiah? Fans find out in Season 3, the last season ever of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” This final season, an adaptation of the final book in the trilogy from Jenny Han, consists of 11 episodes and premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, July 16.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Marvel Studios presents its new film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” It’s the first to depict the Marvel First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). The movie is in theaters on Friday, July 25.
