Syracuse women’s rowing remained at No. 11 in the Week 11 Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll, which was released Tuesday. The ranking follows SU’s strong performance at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships Friday and Saturday.
The Orange totaled 104 points over the weekend, finishing third in the ACC behind No. 1 Stanford (132) and No. 10 Virginia (106). The Cavaliers’ stellar showing helped them jump three spots, pushing them over the Orange in this week’s poll. However, Syracuse bested No. 12 California’s 102-point performance, dropping the Golden Bears three spots.
Syracuse’s varsity 8 has helped it maintain its ranking throughout the year, and the crew finished second in Friday’s qualifying contest. Following the conference tournament, varsity 8 members Ellie-Kate Hutchinson (First), Aphrodite Gioulekas (Second), Zoe Acosta (Second) and Caileigh Grimes (Third) were selected to All-ACC teams.
SU earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships Tuesday, where it will compete against 21 other teams in search of its first title in program history.
