One current member of Syracuse’s women’s lacrosse team — midfielder Emma Muchnick — and three former players — Kate Mashewske, Katie Goodale and Delaney Sweitzer — were invited to the USA National Team training camp Monday. The four were among 34 invited players, ranging from current college stars to legends of the game.

The camp will run from June 9-11 at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Of the 34 players, 22 will be selected to the Pan-American Lacrosse Association continental qualifier from June 26-30, where the United States will look to earn one of four bids to the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

Muchnick, the only current SU player on the squad, is fresh off her best college campaign. After refining her game with Team USA’s Under-20 National Team last summer, Muchnick notched career-highs with 34 goals and 41 points last season. She was one of Syracuse’s most versatile players, totaling 27 ground balls and 13 draw controls.

Before finishing her collegiate career at Northwestern in 2025, Sweitzer was SU’s starting goalie from 2023-24. She racked up 343 career saves with the Orange and earned IWLCA and ACC Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2023.

Mashewske, who graduated in 2024, was the program’s best draw specialist. Through five years with SU, she set records in single-game (20) and all-time (577) draw control wins. She was also named an Inside Lacrosse Second Team All-American in 2022 and First-Teamer in 2024.

On the defensive side, Goodale also starred for SU. From 2021-24, she forced a program-best 102 caused turnovers while also totaling 118 draw controls and 103 ground balls, becoming the second player in program history to surpass 100 ground balls and 100 caused turnovers in her career.
