Three-star athlete Cameron Hairston-Taylor has committed to Syracuse’s 2026 class, he announced on social media Friday. The 6-foot, 180-pounder from Roanoke, Virginia primarily plays defensive back and wide receiver and is rated the 16th-best player in his home state.

Hairston-Taylor is rated as a top-750 player nationally and is the 51st-best player listed as an athlete, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. Hairston-Taylor becomes SU’s 28th commit in the 2026 class and its 25th three-star. His commitment helps the Orange leap into 21st in 247Sports’ 2026 recruiting rankings.

Syracuse offered Hairston-Taylor on May 8, and he took an official visit to SU a month later. He went on official visits to Appalachian State and Virginia Tech in June but chose the Orange over both, as well as schools like South Carolina, Louisville and James Madison.

Hairston-Taylor attends Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, where he plays both sides of the ball on the gridiron and dominates in track. Hairston-Taylor is a two-time Virginia 5A state champion in the 55-meter and long jump. He’s also SU’s fourth commit from Virginia in the 2026 cycle, joining four-star wide receiver Amare Gough and three-stars Chase Geter and Tyrell Grant Jr.
