Syracuse cross country released its 2025 schedule on Tuesday. Its season begins on Aug. 30 at the Harry Lang Invitational in Hamilton, New York, an event the Orange swept last year.
After an off week, they then travel to University Park, Pennsylvania for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, which is hosted by Penn State on Sept. 12. They also won that same meet last year, edging out Georgetown for the victory.
Two weeks later, SU will be in Columbia, Missouri for the Gans Creek Classic, which it didn’t compete in in 2024. To kick off October, Syracuse will race in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the 51st time. Selma Anderson will be looking for back-to-back wins; she was a highlight for the Orange in last year’s event, winning the open race.
Two weeks later, the teams split time between the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison and the Princeton Fall Classic in New Jersey, both events on Oct. 17. Syracuse was successful in both events last year, especially the Princeton Fall Classic. After its performance in New Jersey last year, it rose 11 spots in the rankings.
The Orange’s final regular-season meet is the John Reif Memorial in Ithaca on Oct. 24. The following week will be the ACC Championships in Louisville. Two weeks later, the NCAA Northeast R.egionals will begin in New Hampshire. The men’s team won the regional last year, and the program has claimed 12 of the 15 competitions. The women’s team took second place in last year’s event.
A week later, the NCAA Championships will begin in Columbia, Missouri on Nov. 22. If both teams qualify, it will mark the 17th consecutive appearance for the men and the fifth straight for the women. The men’s team finished 11th last year, while the women’s team captured 20th.
