After a second-place showing at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, Syracuse men’s cross country remained at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA National Poll. The women’s squad fell out of the rankings, having been ranked 29th in the opening polls.

Since the polls opened, the men dominated the Harry Lang Invitational, racing against no other ranked teams.

Over the weekend, the women finished second to now-No. 14 Penn State at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational. The Orange are the highest vote-getter among teams outside the top 30 with 26 votes, which is five fewer than No. 30 Harvard. This week is the women’s first time outside the top 30 since Sept. 19, 2023.

In the regional rankings, both teams stayed put, with the men in first and the women in fourth in the Northeast Region.

Syracuse races again on Sept. 26 in Columbia, Missouri at the Gans Creek Classic. The men’s event will be hosted by Missouri, which received votes in the initial rankings but didn’t get any in the latest rendition.
