Syracuse men’s cross country rose one spot to No. 11 in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, while its women’s team remained unranked. The shift comes after the Orange finished sixth in the Gans Creek Classic last Friday, notably above No. 10 Wake Forest.
It’s the first time the men’s ranking has improved after SU started the season at No. 12. As for the women, they finished 15th in Missouri last Friday and remain unranked but received votes. After receiving 26 votes in the previous ranking, they received 28 votes this week.
In its region, SU’s men’s team kept its top spot while the women’s team improved from fourth to third, overtaking Harvard.
The Orange’s next test will come on Friday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, when they race in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
