Class of 2027 five-star goalie Piper Dalsemer has committed to Syracuse, she announced on social media on Sept. 18, 2025.
Dalsemer is SU’s second five-star commit of the offseason, after it flipped attacker Peyton Rothfuss from Florida on June 21, 2025. Dalsemer becomes the first five-star recruit in Syracuse’s 2027 class, which now boasts six players with at least a four-star rating.
“I can’t wait to be part of this program with so much tradition, passion and energy!” Dalsemer said in her Instagram post.
Dalsemer is considered to be one of the nation’s best up-and-coming prospects in the crease. She’s currently listed as the No. 13 overall prospect and the No. 2 goalie in the Class of 2027, per Inside Lacrosse.
She’s competed at the varsity level with Mira Costa High School (California) and at the club level with Alliance Lacrosse.
Goaltending was a dire need for Syracuse’s recruiting classes, especially after Reagan O’Donovan — the top goalie in the 2026 recruiting class — flipped her commitment to Penn State on June 4, 2025. Dalsemer’s decision helps new head coach Regy Thorpe secure a stronger future for the Orange between the pipes as he enters his first year at the helm.
