Singer De La Ghetto is headlining University Union’s third annual Calentón Music Fest this Sunday at Goldstein Auditorium, UU announced Tuesday.
The event closes Syracuse University’s celebration of Latine Heritage Month and is a collaboration between UU, Student Government Association and Las Naranjas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
DJ Exxtra and the Raíces Dance Troupe will support De La Ghetto.
Puerto Rican De La Ghetto, whose real name is Rafael Castillo, is a Latin urban-reggaeton and Grammy-nominated artist. He blends reggaeton with hip-hop and trap sounds in his music.
Along with these performances, the event features tabling from multicultural organizations and small thrift pop-up shops. UU said the event aims to celebrate Latin music and cultures by bringing students together.
