Big Time Rush canceled their Syracuse concert, scheduled for Jan. 31, 2026, according to a Tuesday Instagram story from University Union.

Set to be a partnership between Syracuse University’s UU and Live Nation, UU announced that the band would not be stopping in Syracuse due to “health-related reasons.”

The concert, meant to be held at the Upstate Medical Arena at The Oncenter War Memorial, was part of the group’s “In Real Life Worldwide Tour,” which began on July 9.

“The tour has taken a toll, and on doctors orders we need to pause to focus on our overall health as we’ve all sustained some form of prolonged illness and injuries,” the band said in the statement.

Big Time Rush was set to perform at other colleges around the United States from Jan. 24 to Feb. 13. All other scheduled concerts on this leg of the tour have also been canceled, according to the band’s Instagram story Tuesday. The group hopes to reschedule the college shows in the future, according to their Instagram story.

For SU ticket buyers, UU said that ticket providers will send automatic refunds for purchases.

Formed in 2009, the four-person team initiated with the premiere of their fictional Nickelodeon show of the same name. During the show’s tenure, the band released three albums, before ending in 2013. Seven years later, the group rekindled in 2020.

Until the band resumes their tour Feb. 17 in Guadalajara, Mexico, they said they will be using the time off to recover from their year of touring, according to the statement on their Instagram.

The concert also would’ve featured Katelyn Tarver and Stephen Kramer Glickman, stars from the show who were touring with the ensemble.
