Syracuse punter Jack Stonehouse has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, he announced on social media Wednesday. Stonehouse is the first Syracuse player to declare for the draft after the Orange had four selections last year.

Stonehouse was one of the best punters in the country in 2025, earning First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. Per Pro Football Focus, the redshirt senior had an average yards per attempt of 46.2 on 60 total attempts, the most in the ACC. PFF also gave him an 89.8 punting grade.

In 2022, he transferred to Syracuse after spending two seasons at Missouri. Stonehouse made an immediate impact with the Orange, earning Third-Team All-ACC recognition and adding an honorable mention nod in his second season. This year was Stonehouse’s best. With Syracuse’s offense unable to stay on the field, Stonehouse constantly trotted out for his booming kicks.

With no eligibility remaining, Stonehouse will try to make it to the NFL. Former SU punter Riley Dixon offers a blueprint for Stonehouse. Dixon has spent a decade in the league, playing for five different teams. The two have worked together in the offseason on campus, and Stonehouse will look to follow in his footsteps.

Stonehouse is a huge loss for Syracuse, but Fran Brown already has a likely replacement. Jimmy Gregg — the No. 1 punter in the 2026 recruiting class according to 247Sports — officially signed with the Orange last Wednesday.
