Syracuse goaltender Ava Drabyk was named the Atlantic Hockey America Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. The honor comes after Drabyk recorded 29 saves on 30 shots across the Orange’s weekend sweep of Delaware. Drabyk stopped all but one shot in Friday’s 3-1 triumph and shut out the Blue Hens in a 4-0 win Saturday.

Despite a minor scare with UD’s Kaitlin Finnegan scoring three minutes into Friday’s contest, the netminder recovered, not allowing a tally for the remainder of the weekend. Drabyk’s crowning moment was a glove save on Victoria Borg in the third period Saturday.

The Saskatchewan, Canada, native has accumulated an array of awards throughout the year, claiming another Rookie of the Week following SU’s wins at Delaware in October 2025. She also won Goaltender of the Week after a home-and-home split with RIT the following week and an additional one in early December 2025 when Syracuse swept RPI.

Drabyk’s established herself as a premier AHA goaltender despite questions and rotations at the position following NCAA all-time saves leader Allie Kelley’s departure. Drabyk’s 578 saves are the most in the conference, and her 2.27 goals allowed per game are the third-fewest. Saturday’s victory was Drabyk’s third shutout, third-most in the AHA.
