Anastasia Sysoeva, Nelly Knezkova named ACC Doubles Team of the Week

Syracuse’s No. 1 doubles pairing, Nelly Knezkova and Anastasia Sysoeva, were named the Atlantic Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week, the team announced Tuesday. The honor comes after the pair went 2-0 in doubles matches against Cornell and Fordham.
The duo dominated their first match of the season on Saturday, besting the Big Red’s pairing of Victoria Zhao and Martina Marica 6-1. Their scorching start continued on Sunday in a 6-3 win over the Rams’ Navena Koleravic and Jullian Nguyen.
“They’ve built a lot of confidence in the fall, and I think they finished top 20 in the country,” SU head coach Younes Limam said of the pair. “It’s been working really well.”
The spring success is a continuation of the Knezkova and Sysoeva’s play from the fall, which included a berth in the championship match of the ITA Regionals Tournament.
The pair will largely impact the Orange’s fortune for the rest of the season, as they look to earn their first winning record since 2023.
