Syracuse University’s chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha is under investigation as of Monday, according to the Hazing Awareness Hub.
While the fraternity is under investigation by Community Standards, it cannot recruit new members or hold social events. However, it can continue community service and philanthropy events.
Lambda is the third fraternity to be placed on investigative status this semester. The fraternity’s status comes 10 days after Theta Chi was placed under investigation, and a few weeks after Sigma Alpha Epsilon was also investigated for alleged fall 2025 hazing.
“We look forward to working with our campus partners at Syracuse University to complete the investigation involving our chapter and will respond appropriately based on the facts as they are gathered, in alignment with our policies,” Tad Lichtenauer, Lambda’s national chief marketing officer, wrote in a statement to The Daily Orange.
There is no definitive timeline for the investigation, as they can vary depending on interviews, scheduling constraints and other factors, an SU spokesperson previously told The D.O.
Lamba’s Alpha Upsilon chapter and the university did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
