Syracuse softball’s game against Northern Illinois has been suspended indefinitely due to thunderstorms in Austin, Texas, the team announced Saturday. The Orange were down 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning when the decision was made.

Madison Knight homered to open the frame, cutting SU’s deficit to one. Shortly after, the storms intensified, prompting officials to pause the game with Syracuse’s Sophia Taliaferro on third base with no outs.

The Orange were initially slated to play No. 2 Texas and NIU Saturday evening, but due to weather concerns, Bevo Classic management canceled the first game and moved the second to the afternoon.

SU is yet to announce if the game against Northern Illinois will finish.
