Syracuse midfielder Emma Muchnick and defender Coco Vandiver have been named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans, the publication announced Tuesday. Muchnick earned Second-Team honors while Vandiver made the Third Team.
Muchnick broke out as the Orange’s second-leading scorer in 2025 with 34 goals, more than double her 14 the year prior. She was SU’s only player to make the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team.
Now a senior, Muchnick headlines SU’s offense, which lost its two Preseason All-Americans from last year — Olivia Adamson and Emma Ward. Adamson slots in on the Second Team after transferring to No. 2 Northwestern.
Vandiver increased her caused turnover and ground ball numbers in each of her three seasons at SU, reaching 40 and 34 last year. A reigning All-ACC Third Team member, she expects to lead a younger back line.
Four ACC schools were represented on the First Team, with No. 1 North Carolina having three, No. 3 Boston College having two and No. 5 Stanford and No. 8 Virginia each with one. Less than half of the conference was represented across all teams, with Syracuse being one of six programs with a listed player.
On Friday, the No. 11 Orange host three All-Americans against No. 7 Maryland, which is spearheaded by First-Team attack Kori Edmondson.
