Syracuse University has put its Sigma Lambda Upsilon chapter under investigation on March 12, according to SU’s Hazing Awareness Hub.
Both the SU chapter and the national organization did not immediately respond to The Daily Orange’s requests for comment. SLU, also known as Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority Inc., is a “Latina-based” sorority, according to its website.

Organizations cannot hold social events or recruit new members while under investigative status but can continue hosting philanthropy and community service events, an SU spokesperson previously told The D.O.
The chapter is one of six campus organizations currently under investigative or probationary status.
