Syracuse forward Peyton Armstrong was named to Atlantic Hockey America’s All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Saturday night. Armstrong scored two goals and dished out two assists in SU’s thrilling 4-3 double-overtime win over RIT in the AHA Quarterfinals.

The sophomore assisted Jordan Blouin’s first-period goal before giving the Orange a 3-1 lead with goals in the second and third periods. With the game knotted at three just minutes into double overtime, she also assisted Emma Gnade’s game-winner to send SU to Penn State.

“Peyton is a goal scorer,” Syracuse associate head coach Heather Farrell said after the win. “She is someone who is used to scoring big goals, so she is doing a great job.”

The Orange were swept by PSU in the semifinals, but Armstrong blossomed into an offensive cornerstone for Syracuse in Year 2. Both her eight goals and 10 assists were tied for second-most on the team, and she claimed AHA Forward of the Week honors on Oct. 7 for her four-point weekend against Stonehill.
