Syracuse men’s basketball will reportedly face Providence in a neutral-site game at TD Garden next season, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein first reported Monday. Rothstein reported there’s no timetable for an official announcement and that an official date is yet to be determined.

Both programs are coming off back-to-back losing seasons and have recently fired their head coaches. SU’s Adrian Autry registered a 49-48 record across his three seasons at the helm, while Providence’s Kim English notched a 48-52 record.

The Friars hired former USF head coach Bryan Hodgson to be their next coach on Sunday. Hodgson, a western New York native, was rumored to be in the running for the Orange’s head coaching position, but he reportedly turned the job down.

Syracuse reportedly hired Gerry McNamara a few hours after Providence hired Hodgson. McNamara led Siena to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010 after it won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference this season.

The Friars will look to snap a three-year March Madness drought next season, while the Orange will look to break their five-year spell.
