Former Syracuse forward Justus Fitzgerald intends to enter the transfer portal, she announced on Instagram Tuesday. Fitzgerald played in 11 games in her first season with the Orange, averaging 2.0 points per game on 50% shooting from the field.

Fitzgerald was SU’s lowest-rated prospect of its three recruits in the 2025 class, alongside Camdyn Nelson and Jasmyn Cooper. Coming out of Norcross High School (Georgia), Fitzgerald committed to the Orange over Howard, Furman, Georgetown and Georgia State.

She played in seven contests during SU’s nonconference slate but saw her minutes taper off once Atlantic Coast Conference play rolled around. After going down with an apparent injury in Syracuse’s win over Binghamton on Dec. 16, 2025, she didn’t appear in another contest for the Orange until their Jan. 29 win over Georgia Tech.

Fitzgerald didn’t appear in any of Syracuse’s postseason contests. She notched a career-high four points against UAlbany and Boston College.

“This was not an easy decision, but I’m excited for what’s ahead and the opportunity to continue growing as a player and a person,” Fitzgerald wrote on Instagram.
