No. 9 Syracuse’s Molly Guzik won her first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. She was also recognized as the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Player of the Week, the publication announced earlier in the day.

The sophomore posted the highest-scoring game of any player in the ACC last week with six goals in the Orange’s win against then-No. 4 Northwestern 9-6 on Thursday. Her heroics helped them rise six spots in Monday’s Inside Lacrosse Poll.

After switching from midfielder to attack, Guzik has emerged from a reserve to SU’s most prolific scorer. She flashed her potential with six braces in 2025, notably leading the charge with five points against Cornell early in the season.

With the departures of Emma Ward and Olivia Adamson, Guzik has stepped up as Syracuse’s offensive anchor. Her sock trick against the Wildcats marked 10 goals throughout her last two games. The Spencerport, New York, native has a team-high four hat tricks halfway through the regular season. Her 23 goals are a team-best mark and rank eighth in the ACC while also scoring at an ultraefficient 41.1% clip.

With talented offensive players like No. 1 North Carolina’s Chloe Humphrey and No. 2 Stanford’s Aliya Polisky in the conference, Tuesday marked a refreshing recognition for Guzik’s imposing presence on opposing defenses.
