The Driver Era and Ravyn Lenae will headline this year’s Block Party, University Union announced Wednesday.

The event is on April 24 at 6 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome. EDM band Snow Strippers will also perform and student DJ Spike will open the event.

The Driver Era is composed of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch. Both brothers are former members of sibling band R5. Ross is known for his Disney Channel roles in “Teen Beach Movie” and “Austin & Ally.” The band’s most recent album, “Obsession” was released last April and includes songs like “Same Old Story.

Ravyn Lenae is an R&B singer-songwriter. She’s known for her house and synth funk tracks, like “Sticky” and “Love Me Not.” “Love Me Not” peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lenae is also a member of the musical collective “Zero Fatigue.”

Snow Strippers is an American electronic duo of singer Tatiana Schwaninger and producer Graham Perez. Their music combines big room EDM, trance and witch house. With 5.7 million monthly Spotify listeners, their biggest songs are “Under Your Spell” and “Just Your Doll.”

Student DJ Spike, Spike Michel, will be opening University Union’s Block Party on April 26. The sophomore has performed at SU athletic events and local venues, including Westcott’s Theater’s DJ Competition. Zoe Xixis | Assistant Photo Editor

Spike Michel will open the event. The SU sophomore has performed at college events, SU athletic events and local venues, including Wescott Theater’s DJ Competition.

Block Party’s venue announcement comes after this year’s Juice Jam was held on the Shaw Quadrangle rather than Skytop Field or the Dome due to budget cuts facing UU. Their spring event returns to the Dome.

Tickets to Block Party are $20. The event is closed to Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students as well as faculty and staff with a valid college ID. Tickets for students will be available starting on Wednesday at 12 p.m. This year, there will be a flash sale from Wednesday to Friday at 11:59 p.m., with tickets reduced to $15. Beginning on Saturday, tickets will remain $20.

Correction: A previous version of this story misspelled DJ Spike’s last name. His full name is Spike Michel. The Daily Orange regrets this error.
