Emily Castillo, Max Lachut elected SGA 70th session president, executive VP

Syracuse University’s Student Government Association announced the spring election results for its 70th session in a Saturday campus-wide email.
Running uncontested, Emily Castillo was elected president with her running mate Max Lachut earning the role of executive vice president, under their Promise to Progress campaign. Ryan Bouchey was also elected comptroller, Board of Elections Chair Thalia Benton-Dineen wrote in the email.
All available assembly seats were filled except those for the School of Architecture, Falk College of Sport and the College of Professional Studies.

Benton-Dineen also announced the “top-performing” organizations in the elections voting incentives.
Kappa Alpha Theta won the Greek Life category and earned $1,000 for merchandise for its chapter. The Black Box Players won $1,000 toward promotional materials for the registered student organization category and Syracuse University Outing Club won $500 towards equipment for the club sports category.
“Huge shoutout to all of the organizations that rallied their members and showed out — your support did not go unnoticed!” Benton-Dineen wrote.
