Former Syracuse guard Aaron Womack has committed to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he announced on social media Friday. Womack redshirted his lone year at SU and didn’t appear in a regular-season game.

Womack, a Milwaukee native, was a three-star recruit out of Dominican High School (Wisconsin), according to 247Sports. Womack chose Syracuse over eight mid-major schools, including Buffalo and Murray State. He joined a freshman class featuring the likes of Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White Jr., but never broke into the rotation.

Syracuse announced Womack would redshirt in December following conversations with then-head coach Adrian Autry. After Autry was fired on March 11, Womack became the first SU player to enter the transfer portal on March 31. As new head coach Gerry McNamara enters his first season helming the Orange, Womack won’t be a part of his plans.

Instead, Womack will join his hometown team in Milwaukee. The Panthers, who compete in the Horizon League, went 12-20 in 2025-26 and lost in the Horizon League Tournament First Round. Womack will likely step into a major role for Milwaukee, something he couldn’t carve out in his short stint at Syracuse.
