SGA displays the visitors’ posters on one of Schine Student Center’s walls, leaving encouraging messages for Syverud. By the end of the event, over 30 signs covered the bricks — despite gusts of wind nearly knocking them down.

Members of the campus community walk across Crouse Drive to reach a small stage set up in front of Crouse-Hinds Hall, where scheduled speeches were set to begin. Though Syverud is already in Michigan receiving treatment, the event was held outside the building that holds the chancellor’s office.

Supporters begin their short trek on the Einhorn Family Walk in solidarity with the outgoing chancellor. A majority of the group donned gray clothing, the official color of brain cancer and tumor awareness.

SGA members hang signs to encourage Syverud on his journey to recovery. They eventually moved the display to the wall after the wind kept knocking the small structure over.

Members of SGA give out t-shirts to attendees. The shirts, reading “nobody fights alone,” were distributed to those who donated at least $15 to the Brain Tumor Foundation.
