Malian big man Abdramane Siby has committed to Syracuse men’s basketball, Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reported Wednesday. The 7-foot Siby leads the Adriatic League in block percentage with his 7-foot-6 wingspan.

Siby, 19, has played in Europe for the past four seasons. He joined Serbian club KK Mega Leks’s Under-18 team in 2022, playing 10 games and averaging 4.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in the 2022-23 season. Siby upped his production to 12.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest in the 2023-24 campaign.

Siby played for three Serbian teams during the 2024-25 season — KK Mega Leks U18, OKK Beograd and KK Mega Bemax. In his 32 games across the three clubs, the Malian put up 9.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on average.

In the most recent season, Siby has remained at KK Mega Bemax and averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 blocks per game in 13.6 minutes.

Siby is new Orange head coach Gerry McNamara’s second commit from European leagues this offseason. The first was Slovenian wing Mark Morano Mahmutovič. Siby is also the second big man SU has added to its roster to replenish the position following Tasman Goodrick’s commitment.
