Former Syracuse assistant coach Brenden Straughn is expected to join Boston College’s staff, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported Monday.
Straughn spent the last three seasons with the Orange under Adrian Autry, serving as their offensive coordinator for the final two. Known for his recruiting prowess, Straughn joined SU after stints as an assistant for Loyola Maryland (2018-19), Saint Joseph’s (2019-22) and George Washington (2022-23).
Like Autry, Straughn previously worked for Team Takeover, a premier Washington, D.C.-based elite youth basketball organization, which helped him build a strong DMV recruiting base. Now, Straughn will take that to BC, where he’ll work under first-time head coach and former UConn assistant Luke Murray.
Straughn becomes the third coach from SU’s staff last season to find a new home. Autry accepted a job on Virginia’s staff, while Dan Engelstad has become Pepperdine’s associate head coach.
