Syracuse midfielder Luke Rhoa won the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Rhoa scored three goals and logged one assist in the Orange’s win over Virginia Saturday.
It’s the senior’s fourth hat trick of the season, and he tied his season-high with four points. Known for his shooting marksmanship, Rhoa scored his three goals on only three shots on target.
Rhoa’s Tuesday could get even better if he hears his name called at the Premier Lacrosse League Draft, which starts at 7 p.m. He’s likely a fourth-round pick in the draft, where his shooting prowess can come in handy for professional teams.
The midfielder is the ninth SU player to earn conference player of the week honors this season. Joey Spallina has garnered the offensive honors three times. Defender Riley Figueiras and goalie Jimmy McCool have earned defensive honors twice, while faceoff man John Mullen took home the award once as well.
