Syracuse track and field won two events at the Ithaca College Invitational Tuesday.
The Orange’s underclassmen sprinters began in outdoor events, with freshman Ivana Richards earning a dominant win in the women’s 400-meter hurdles. She crossed the line almost 10 seconds before her opponents.
Mia Hernandez, the only sophomore who started a race for SU Tuesday, closed the day by winning the Orange’s second gold medal in the women’s 200-meter. Hernandez also posted a personal best of 25.59 seconds during the event.
Freshman Nylah Robinson, Andrea Pomales and Leah Bello competed in the same event as Hernandez and crossed shortly after her. Robinson and Pomales finished side-by-side, with Robinson squeaking past Pomales to take 12th. Bello trailed the duo, finishing in 18th.
Bianca Williams was Syracuse’s lone representative in the women’s 100-meter, placing 10th with a time of 13.99 seconds.
The meet marks Syracuse’s fourth in a row where it’s finished on the podium in an event. The Orange look to extend that streak to five at the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville and the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Friday.
