Former Temple forward Jaleesa Molina has committed to Syracuse women’s basketball, the program announced Wednesday. The junior is the Orange’s third transfer portal addition this offseason, following SMU’s Tyi Skinner and Oregon’s Sarah Rambus.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jaleesa Molina to our Orange family,” SU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack said in a press release. “Her versatility is endless — she runs the floor exceptionally well, can knock down the 3 and gets to the nail for the pull-up jumper.”
In three years with the Owls, Molina averaged 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 51.4% from the field. Molina’s junior season was her most productive, featuring eight double-doubles and a career-high 20 points against Tulane on Jan. 13.
Temple didn’t make the NCAA Tournament in Molina’s tenure, but it won 20 games in both her freshman and sophomore campaigns before finishing 15-17 last season.
Molina also brings international experience to SU. She competed in 27 3-on-3 events for the Netherlands, including the Under-18 World Cup in 2022. She also played in the Dutch Basketball League with Landslake, where she averaged 6.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
With the additions of Molina, Skinner and Rambus, along with freshmen Madison Howard and Destiny Robinson, SU’s roster is beginning to take shape as it aims for its third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years.
