Former Syracuse women’s basketball guard Madeline Potts has committed to Saint Joseph’s, according to On3’s transfer portal tracker. Potts confirmed the news with an Instagram post Friday after originally tagging SJU in her bio on Thursday.

In two seasons with the Orange, the Australian averaged 3.2 points per game on 34.6% 3-point shooting, her game’s calling card. She also posted 1.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. Potts enrolled early during the 2023-24 season but didn’t play any games before making 47 appearances across the last two campaigns.

Potts joins a Hawks squad that finished fifth in the Atlantic 10 this past season. However, during the 2024-25 season, SJU defeated Syracuse in the JMA Wireless Dome and made it to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.

Potts is the third Orange player who entered the transfer portal to announce their new home. Fellow Australian guard Sophie Burrows committed to ACC foe North Carolina, while guard Camdyn Nelson is headed to Northwestern in the Big Ten. Forwards Aurora Almón, Justus Fitzgerald and Jasmyn Cooper remain in the portal.
