Syracuse women’s rowing remained at No. 10 in the Week 7 Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll, which was released Tuesday. The ranking follows SU’s strong performance at the New York State Championships on Saturday.

The Orange carried momentum into Saratoga Springs after a successful showing at the Ivy Invitational, where they competed against multiple ranked opponents and earned four first-place finishes. Their performance at the state championships solidified their top-10 ranking.

SU reinforced its consistent energy across the spring slate by taking first in the varsity 4+ Saturday. The Orange opened with a standout showing in the prelims, clocking the top time of the day at 8:10.130 to outpace Long Island and Ithaca, advancing to the final. SU improved its time by over 14 seconds compared to last weekend’s varsity 4 race.

In the afternoon final, Syracuse crossed the line in 8:51.00 to seal the win, finishing more than eight seconds ahead of Marist.

SU’s consistency this season, particularly in the varsity 4, has helped it remain among the top programs in the country. The Orange have sustained a top-10 ranking for the past four weeks.

SU is set to face No. 16 Ohio State and No. 17 Michigan in the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual this Saturday. Syracuse continues to position itself as a contender with the postseason approaching and will look to carry that level of execution into this weekend’s races.

At this point last season, the Orange held a similar No. 10 ranking but saw its standing slip to No. 12 throughout postseason competition. This year’s squad aims to avoid a repeat of that late-season drop, with this weekend determining whether SU has what it takes to maintain its standing.
