Athletics administrators Torrey Ball and Kirsten Elleby are no longer with Syracuse University, Syracuse.com first reported Wednesday. Two sources independently told The Daily Orange that Ball and Elleby were no longer with SU.
Ball, a former defensive end at Syracuse from 2009-11, joined the athletic department in July 2023. His official title was deputy athletic director for business development, and he worked closely with the men’s basketball program. Before working at SU, Ball worked in the athletic department for Virginia, Marquette and Nebraska.
Elleby joined SU in March 2022. She served as the Orange’s deputy athletic director and senior woman administrator. Per her Cuse.com profile page, Elleby “serves as the liaison to the University’s Title IX Office and Community Standards office, oversees gender equity initiatives and has numerous specific sport oversight responsibilities, including women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball and volleyball.”
As of now, it’s unclear why Ball and Elleby are not returning. The Orange’s athletic department is undergoing a leadership change, with Bryan Blair set to permanently take over as director of athletics for John Wildhack on July 1.
