I never knew that joining The Daily Orange as a senior could leave such an impact on me and be one of the things I am proudest of after four years on this campus. I didn’t think that a single year would be enough time to find my place somewhere new. But some of the best places, and people, find you when you least expect it.

I’ve played sports my whole life and have been surrounded by passionate players and hardworkers, but I’ve never experienced something quite like The D.O. I am constantly amazed at the people who surround me here, and I could not be prouder to be a part of this group.

In just two semesters, The D.O. has allowed me to grow as both a designer and a person. I’ve been able to use my love for design to create graphics for stories I’m passionate about and have been able to learn so much from all the talented designers around me.

Most importantly, The D.O. has brought me people that I am proud to be around. People that bring out the best side of me and help me grow everyday. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to apply for The D.O and to everyone who welcomed me in. I am so thankful for you all.

Sammy Olander: Sammy! My best friend and my role model. I truly believe if we didn’t live together junior year I would not be the same person I am today. You are intelligent, kind and I look up to you in so many ways. I am so proud to call you one of my best friends. You are one of the only people that I can sit down for hours talking about the world with, and your knowledge and humor are unmatched. I will forever brag about you to anyone who will listen, and everyone who knows me knows I have a super cool friend who got to go to the DNC. Thank you for bringing me into The Daily Orange and for reminding me that knowledge makes the best humor. Samantha Olander, I don’t even know how I lived before you existed, you’re my rock and my inspiration, I love you.

Kendall Luther: I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am that we met. You are a ray of sunshine, and I am so happy our worlds collided like they did. I never expected that I would make a friend like you when joining The D.O. I am constantly inspired by your passion, intelligence and dedication to what you do, and I am so lucky to have worked for such an incredible leader. Your ability to balance friendships and leadership is something I am in awe of, and I have learned so much from watching you over the last few semesters. I am forever grateful we met and cannot wait for our trips to LA one day to visit the girl who brought us together (Thank you Devin.)

Sophia Burke: You are the first person I ever met at The D.O. and have been an inspiration for me since that day. You are one of the most talented designers I know, and your ability to balance your workload with no complaints amazes me. Your precision and care never leave your work, no matter how late and how many designs you have. I am so glad I have been able to work for you and by your side. You have an ability to bring out the best in everyone around you. And there is no one else I would rather spend late nights in the dig room with. You have taught me so much over the last few semesters, and I am so grateful that it was you I got to work alongside. I will forever miss your creative dig questions and Jolly Ranchers.

Griffin Uribe Brown: Coming into The D.O. in the fall, I hadn’t had much experience in graphic design, and I was unsure what to expect. From my first day as a design editor, you brought an energy that eased my nerves and encouraged me. You are one of the most passionate and driven people I’ve ever met, and your dedication to The D.O. is evident to everyone around. Thank you for being an incredible leader, for boosting my confidence and for teaching me everything I will ever need to know about AP style. I am so lucky to have gotten to work for you for two semesters, I know The Daily Orange digital section will forever be better off because of the foundation you laid.

Charlotte Price: Charlotte, I am so happy we met. Who would have thought that even though we were both in DG that the first time we met would’ve been in the D.O. house. I’m so glad that you were SME while I was DDD, I truly believe the timing was meant to be. I loved collaborating with you and talking with you, for all the late nights and long days. There will be nothing quite like our Instagram carousels again, and there is no one else in this world I would make tedious photoshop cutouts for. I am so proud of you and everything you have done. I know you will continue to amaze me.

Ilyan Sarech: Ilyan, I have been so lucky to have gotten to work with you and get to know you these last two semesters. You make the dig room fun, and you always make the late nights more enjoyable. I am so glad you are as talented as you are because I don’t know how I would have taught you Illustrator commands in French. I have loved learning everything about Paris, and I am counting down the days until we can have a dig reunion in France.
