Michael Nnabuife, a three-star tight end who committed to Syracuse’s 2027 class on May 20, flipped to Alabama, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Saturday. Nnabuife is ranked as the best at his position in his home state of Maryland, per 247Sports.

Nnabuife, currently a junior at St. Frances Academy (Maryland), stands 6-foot-5, 242 pounds. Aside from the Orange and Alabama, he received offers from Maryland, Michigan State, Rutgers, South Carolina and NC State. He visited the Crimson Tide over the weekend.

Nnabuife is 247Sports’ 28th-best player in Maryland and 53rd-best tight end in the country.

Nnabuife was in a prime spot to contribute immediately once he arrived at SU in fall 2027. Dan Villari, the Orange’s starting tight end in 2025, departed for the NFL, and it’s unclear who will step into the No. 1 spot in 2026.
