Syracuse men’s rowing finished ninth in the Ten Eyck Trophy standings at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta Sunday. SU tallied 204 points, while Washington left the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma with its third consecutive national championship.

Behind the Huskies, who had 284 points, Princeton and Harvard totaled 272 and 262 and finished in second and third, respectively.

The Orange’s best time was their varsity 8’s 5:46.85 mark in the Petite Final. But Syracuse’s best placing came from its second varsity 8, which placed fourth nationally after clocking a 5:47.38 in the Grand Final, ahead of Cal and Brown.

The 2V8 was the only SU crew to secure a Grand Final spot: the race that decides first through sixth. The varsity 8, third varsity 8 and varsity 4 all finished outside the top six in their semifinals across Friday and Saturday but still qualified for a Petite Final, which determines seventh to 12th place.

The aforementioned V8’s time placed it fourth in its Petite Final and 10th overall, ahead of Eastern Association foes Brown and Boston University. The 3V8 finished with the same ranking, crossing the line in 5:55:86, topping Stanford and Northeastern. Rounding out the team was the V4, which finished second in its Petite Final Saturday with a time of 6:35.92, eighth overall.

The Orange’s performance was within their routine margins in recent years. From 2021-24, SU hovered between seventh and ninth. Syracuse’s 204 points this year eked out 10th-place Penn’s 201, continuing the trend. However, SU’s effort wasn’t enough to repeat its 2025 showing, where its 232 handed it a program-best sixth.
