Syracuse women’s lacrosse (13-5, 7-3 Atlantic Coast) rose one spot to No. 7 in Inside Lacrosse’s Week 13 Poll, which was released Monday afternoon. The Orange didn’t play this week, but jumped No. 12 Florida after the Gators lost to No. 11 Colorado in the Big 12 Championship.

Although SU didn’t have much success in its conference tournament, it easily made the NCAA Tournament, where it’ll face Loyola in the first round in Annapolis, Maryland, on Friday. The Greyhounds — who were ranked No. 22 in Monday’s poll — lost to Syracuse on Feb. 24, the Orange’s first victory of a 12-game winning streak.

In that game, SU led from start to finish, extending a two-goal halftime lead to nine at the end of the third quarter. The Orange will look for a similar outcome against Loyola this time around after losing two of their latest three games.

Syracuse’s regular season concluded with a 7-4 defeat at Boston College, snapping its 12-game winning streak and dropping it to the No. 4 seed in the ACC Tournament. While the Orange scraped by Virginia in the quarterfinals, they fell short against North Carolina in the next round. The Tar Heels earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

If SU beats the Greyhounds on Friday, it’ll match up with the winner of No. 4 Navy and UMass, both of which won their conference tournaments.
